בית הנסן תוכנן על ידי האדריכל קונרד שיק ונבנה בשנת 1887 על-ידי הקהילה הפרוטסטנטית בעיר כבית חולים מבודד לחולי צרעת. בשנת 1950 נרכש הבית על-ידי הקרן הקיימת לישראל והמשיך לשמש בייעודו המקורי. בשנת 2009 החליטה ממשלת ישראל להעביר את המבנה מהקרן הקיימת לישראל לרשות עיריית ירושלים, לצורך שיקומו והסבתו למרכז עיצוב, מדיה חדשה וטכנולוגיה. עבודות התכנון והשימור במקום נעשו בין השנים 2013-2011, בניהולה של הרשות לפיתוח ירושלים

بیت هنسن ضمّم على يد المهندس المعماري كونراد شيك وبني عام ١٨٨٧ على يد الجالية البروتستانتية في المدينة ، كمشفى معزول لمرضى الجذام . في عام ١٩٥٠ اشترى الصندوق القومي اليهودي ( ككال ) البيت الذي واصل تقديم خدماته كالمعتاد . في عام ٢٠٠٩ ، قررت حكومة إسرائيل نقل المبنى من الصندوق القومي اليهودي لخدمة بلدية القدس ، من أجل ترميمه وتحويله إلى مركز للتصميم ، الإعلام الحديث والتكنولوجيا . تقت أعمال التخطيط والحفظ في المكان بين الاعوام ۲۰۱۱ ۲۰۱۳۰ بإدارة سلطة تطوير أورشليم القدس .

Planned by Architect Conrad Schick, Hansen House was constructed in 1887 by the Protestant community in the city as an isolated leper asylum. In 1950, the house was acquired by the Jewish National Fund (UNF) and continued with its original mission. In 2009, the Israeli government decided to hand over the building from the Jewish National Fund to the disposal of the Jerusalem municipality for the purposes of converting it into a center of design, new media and technology. The planning and preservation work in the house was executed from 2011-2013 under the management of the Jerusalem Development Authority.
