Jews in Akko Port in the 12th Century
Many Jews, from Spain and Ashkenaz - notably the Rambam (Maimonides, 1166) - Passed through Akko’s port during the Crusade rule. Some of them settled in the city, turning Akko’s Jewish community into the largest and most important in Israel.

בימי השלטון הצלבני נוחתים בנמל עכו יהודים רבים, מספרד ומאשכנז, ובראשם הרמב"ם (1166). חלקם משתקעים בעיר, והופכים את הקהילה כאן לגדולה והחשובה בא"י.
