The board is dedicated to Elizabeth Schmitz-Meyer-Harting, who founded the HILFE IM EIGENEN LAND.
The association was formed in 1965 after many floods hit Austria, leaving many people homeless, and government aid was insufficient. Elizabeth and her staff, moved from village to village and extended help to the needy.
