THE HUMAN MESSAGE TO OUTER SPACE, PIONEER 10-11 1972

Entin Square is at the entrance gate to the Tel Aviv University campus in Ramat Aviv.

The square is studded with cobblestones with quotes, sayings, illustrations or formulas of the great scientists, thinkers and writers.

The current plaque shows the message that was sent with the first Pioneer 10 and 11 spacecraft that will leave the solar system. The disks contain a message to intelligent races and on them appear (from top to bottom and right to left): two states of a hydrogen atom and a possible transition between the states (the energy released in the transition between the states is the same at a wavelength of 21 cm and is considered one of the universal constants of nature), naked figures of a man and a woman, The position of the solar system (and Earth), relative to the center of the galaxy and 14 pulsars, a schematic illustration of the solar system, and the trajectory of Pioneer 10.
The message is written on a gold-plated aluminum plate, and was drafted by scientists Carl Sagan, Linda Salzman Sagan and Frank Drake.

Three months later, the tiles were photographed in the same square. During the photograph, it was discovered that a number of tiles had been removed and replaced by other tiles. The current tile was removed and therefore placed on a map on the edge of the square.
