Comments:
Joachim Lelewel who was born in Warsaw, Poland, a historian who was also a politician who was in the Polish Senate. Was one of the activists in the November Uprising of Poland against the Russian Empire (1930). After the failure of the uprising, he fled to Paris (1931), where he stayed until 1933. Later he joined the Polish Democratic Association, an association in which Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels were also members. He was involved in other struggles for freedom and liberty.
Died during a trip to Paris in 1861.
