Comments:
The statue shows John of Nepomuk (1345-1393), a Czech Catholic saint. After refusing to tell the king the secrets the queen told him during the confession, he was thrown from the Charles Bridge into the river where he drowned.

The sculpture made by Ignác František Platzer in 1763 depicts John of Nepomuk drowning in a river being pulled out of the water by an angel..
