Comments:
The fountain erected in 1697 by the architect Jean Beausire is dedicated to Louis Boucherat (1616-1685) who was Chancellor of France.

At the top of the fountain is another plaque, on which is written in Latin, a sentence of thanks to King Louis XIV for the Treaty of Ryswick signed in 1697 and ending the Nine Years’ War between France and the Alliance of Nations (England, Spain and more):
FAVSTA PARISIACAM LODOICO REGE PER VRBEM
PAX VT FVNDET OPES FONS ITA FVNDIT AOVAS

[translation]
Just as King Louis, who brought peace throughout the city of Paris, similarly this fountain allows its waters to flow
