בנקודה זו ממש עמדה פעם הגימנסיה העברית הרצליה, שתרמה תרומה אדירה לנס התרבותי שהתחולל בתל אביב: החייאת השפה העברית אחרי 2000 שנים בהן שימשה שפת קודש בלבד.

הגימנסיה הייתה בית היוצר לחינוך ולתרבות העברית החדשה, מוסד בו טופחה הזהות הלאומית, ומקום לידתם של רבים מהארגונים ומהתנועות שהשפיעו על היישוב כולו.

במגדל שלום, שנבנה במקום הגימנסיה, נמצא כיום המרכז לתולדות תל-אביב ובו תערוכות היסטוריות המתעדות את ימיה הראשונים של העיר.

The Herzliya Hebrew Gymnasium
Herzliya Hebrew Gymnasium was the first Hebrew-speaking high school in the country and worldwide.
The school had a major contribution to the cultural miracle that occurred in Tel Aviv: the revival of Hebrew as the national spoken language after 2,000 years during which it was used only in holy texts and prayer.
The Shalom Mayer Tower, which stands on the site of the former school, is now home to the Discover Tel Aviv Center. The Center features historical exhibits depicting the early days of the city, its cultural life and White City architecture.

جمناسيا هرتسليا
كانت جمناسيا هرتسليا أول مدرسة ثانوية تنطق باللغة العبرية في البلاد وفي كل أنحاء العالم ، بحيث أنها لعبت دوراً هاماً في المعجزة الثقافية التي حدثت في مدينة تل أبيب ألا هي إحياء اللغة العبرية بعد 2000 عام من انحصارها على النصوص الدينية والصلاة فقط . وفي برج شالوم الذي بني محل الجمناسيا يمكن الآن إيجاد مركز تاريخ تل أبيب حيث تقام فيه المعارض التاريخية التي توثق الأيام الأولى من تاريخ المدينة فضلاً عن حياتها الثقافية والأسلوب العمراني الخاص بالمدينة البيضاء
