On the sign:
[From the center out]
[The Britain National Trails Symbol] AND BEGINNING AND END [Names of places along the route]
The sign marks the start of the Cotswold Way, a 102-mile (164 km) walking route that starts in Bath and ends in Chipping Campden. The route passes several historic sites along the way.
The sign was made by stone engraver Iain Cotton, and another sign is located at the end in Chipping Campden.
In the centre of the sign is an oak acorn, the symbol of the National Walks of England and Wales.
