Born in Ainay-le-Vieil (Cher), France (1825–1877). A French sculptor who belonged to the classical and figurative sculpture tradition of the 19th century and studied at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris under the sculptors François Jouffroy and Jean-Marie Bonnassieux. Valette regularly exhibited at the Paris Salon and received honorary medals. His works, mainly in marble and bronze, were created for collections and public institutions.
