Born in Nantes, France (1802-1862). A French sculptor, son of a sculptor of the same name and brother of a sculptor and painter. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1829, he won the prestigious Prix de Rome for sculpture, which enabled him to study and work in Italy for several years. His sculptures can be found in public places, mainly in Paris and Nantes.
