Sculptor

Born in Bar-sur-Aube, France (1825-1893).

A French sculptor of Italian origin and a student of the sculptor François Rude. He began exhibiting at the Paris Salon in 1848 and received medals at exhibitions in 1861, 1864, and 1869. In 1874, he was appointed a Knight of the Legion of Honour.

Among his works in Paris are "La Peinture" in the Luxembourg Gardens , sculptures at the Louvre Palace, and other works in public buildings and cemeteries throughout the city.
