Sculptor

Born in Geneva, Switzerland (1790-1852).
French sculptor of Swiss origin, who was one of the leading sculptors of his time. He won the Prix de Rome in 1813. In 1827, he was elected a member of the Academy of Fine Arts and served as a professor of sculpture. His studio was located in the Palais abbatial in Paris .

A bust of him is displayed on the façade of the Sénat’s Orangerie building
