Sign-O-Pedia: Paintings exhibition

About the tag

Background

Painting exhibitions bring together paintings by particular artists or works related to a specific subject. Exhibitions may be held in enclosed spaces (museums, galleries) or in open spaces (streets, gardens, and more), and may be temporary or permanent.

The website features several exhibitions. Of particular note is the exhibition "70 to Israel - blue and white art" , with works displayed in public parking lots in Tel Aviv, as well as the ceramic tiles at the exit of Pimlico Underground Station in London, featuring paintings by famous artists whose works are displayed at Tate Britain, to which the exit leads .

In hospitals in Israel, paintings and other works of art are displayed throughout the floors, for example at Sheba Medical Center or in the Heart Institute at Ichilov Hospital . In such cases, the artworks are integrated into the everyday environment rather than being displayed in a space dedicated exclusively to exhibitions.

Another exhibition worth mentioning is located in the French department store "Le Bon Marché" , where works from the department store’s art collection are displayed throughout the floors. In addition to paintings, sculptures are also displayed, with the artworks integrated into the retail spaces as an integral part of the surroundings.
