Born in Prenzlau, Germany (1915-1975)
Unger, a Jew who moved to South Africa during World War II, served in the South African army during World War II and was even taken prisoner. After the war in 1948, he moved to London where he designed many works that can be found in London Underground stations or Royal Mail branches.
