Born in Bagnères-de-Bigorre, France (1851–1911).
A French sculptor and visual artist known both for his independent works, including marble sculptures and allegorical works such as "The Muse of Bagnères" and "Spring", and for his important role as an executing sculptor in Auguste Rodin’s studio, where he translated and carved several of Rodin’s famous works in marble, including "Eve" and "The Eternal Idol".
