Born in Paris, France (1796-1864). French sculptor who studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris under Pierre-Charles Bridan and François-Frédéric Lemot. He was best known for his public sculptures and statues of historical figures, including the statue of Saint Bathilde in the Luxembourg Gardens
, the statue of the painter Hyacinthe Rigaud on the façade of the Louvre, and the statue of Gregory of Tours at the Church of La Madeleine.
