בית עארף אל עארף
העיר העתיקה בבאר-שבע הוקמה בשנת 1900 בידי השלטון העות’מאני כעיר מחוז מרכזית ומצויים בה מבנים ייחודיים וחשובים מבחינה היסטורית, ביניהם ביתו של עארף אל עארף, מושל מחוז באר–שבע בימי המנדט הבריטי, עיתונאי והיסטוריון. הבית נבנה בשנים 1938–1937 ונודע בסגנונו ובתכנונו הייחודי.
בשנים 1939–1929 שירת עארף אל עארף בעיר, וכתב שלושה מספריו שתורגמו לעברית ומהווים מקור היסטורי חשוב בלימוד תרבות הבדווים בנגב. בהמשך כיהן כראש עיריית ירושלים המזרחית וכמנהל מוזאון רוקפלר.
לאחר מלחמת העצמאות שכן במבנה מועדון קציני פיקוד הדרום וקנטינת שק"ם.
הבית נרכש בידי חברה פרטית ששימרה את המבנה הייחודי.

Aref al-Aref House
Known for its impressive style and design, the house was built in 1937-1938 and was home of Aref al-Aref – journalist, historian and Mandate period Be’er-Sheva District administrator (1929-1939).
While living in Be’er-Sheva, al-Aref wrote three books which, translated into Hebrew and are an important study resource about Negev Bedouin culture. Later, he served as the Mayor of East Jerusalem and subsequently, director of the Rockefeller Museum. After the Independence war, the house served as IDF Southern Command Officers’ Club. Today house was purchased by a private company that preserved the unique structure.

The sign is part of a series of signs describing historical buildings in Beer Sheva.
