The sign is in the house where Arie Navon, a painter and cartoonist, lived. Born in Dunaivtsi, Ukraine (1909-1996), immigrated to Israel in 1919.
Navon was the first cartoonist to work in Israel, working mainly for the newspaper Davar. He also designed backdrops, illustrations for books and more.
Navon is the recipient of the Israel Prize for Performing Arts (1996), the Sokolov Prize, the David Violin Prize and the Dizengoff Prize for the Art of Painting and Sculpture.
