The current sign marks the year 1526 - a year after the death of the King of Bohemia Louis II in the Battle of Mohács, Bohemia and Wroclaw were annexed into the Austrian Habsburg Monarchy. Wroclaw was called Bresslaw in those days. On the sign is the name of the city, and the symbol of the Habsburg Monarchy
