מייסדי בנימינה
המושבה בנימינה שוכנת למרגלות הכרמל ונקראה ע"ש הנדיב הידוע, בנימין אדמונד דה-רוטשילד. בעת ביקורו של הנדיב בארץ ישראל בחודש מרס 1914, בעוברו את גשר שוני, אמר למלוויו: " פה רוצה אני ליצור ישוב חקלאי משוכלל אשר יהיה מופת לרבים".
פקידי הברון בחרו בקפידה 30 מתיישבים ראשונים שכללו בוגרי בית הספר החקלאי מקווה-ישראל, בני איכרים ממושבות יהודה, זכרון יעקב וחדרה, הגליל, משוחררי הגדוד העברי ובעלי הון. אליהם הצטרפו מתיישבים בוגרי לימודים חקלאיים בקליפורניה ובהולנד.
המייסדים התגוררו 3 שנים בשוני ובזרעוניה לפני אכלוס בתי הקבע. הם עסקו במגוון ענפי חקלאות. המושבה, שנקראה תחילה "גבעת בנימין" ואח"כ "תל בנימין", הייתה חידוש בולט בהתיישבות בא"י - בניית בתי המגורים, מבני המשק, המחלבה ומערכת המים הושלמה לפני אכלוסם. בניית 30 הבתים הראשונים, ע"י פיק"א, הושלמה באוקטובר 1922. טקס חנוכת המושבה נערך בט"ו בשבט תרפ"ב, פברואר 1923, ובו אף נקבע שמה הסופי של המושבה - בנימינה, כשם תחנת הרכבת במקום. בתום שנתיים להקמתו, מנה הכפר 50 משפחות חקלאיות, כפי שתכננה פיק"א מתחילה.
המתיישבים הראשונים גרו ברחובות: המייסדים, הכרמל, הדקלים, החורש, הכיכר והמורה.

ounders of Binyamina
The Binyamina colony is located at the foot of the Carmel and is named after the well-known benefactor, Benjamin Edmund de Rothschild.
The Baron’s officials carefully selected the first 30 settlers, including graduates of the Mikveh Israel Agricultural School, peasants from the Judean colonies, Zichron Yaacov and Hadera, the Galilee, the veterans of the Hebrew Battalion and the wealthy. They were joined by settlers graduating from agricultural studies in California and the Netherlands.
The founders lived for 3 years in Shoni and Zar’onia before the permanent houses were inhabited. They engaged in a variety of agricultural industries. The colony, first called "Givat Binyamin" and later "Tel Binyamin", was a prominent innovation in settlement in Israel - the construction of the dwellings, farm buildings, dairy and water system was completed before they were inhabited. The construction of the first 30 houses, by PIKA, was completed in October 1922. The inauguration ceremony of the colony was held on Tu B’Shvat, February 1923, and also determined the final name of the colony - Binyamina, as the name of the train station there. At the end of two years of its establishment, the village numbered 50 agricultural families, as originally planned by PIKA.
