אשה עם מטריה
אל-הבית באה גברת
עם ריחות מעיר אחרת.
את התיק שלה הורידה והניחה בפִנה
לא אמרה אם יש או אין בו
מתנה.
דיברה ודיברה ופתאֹם נזכרה:
"תביא לי ת’תיק שם, חמודי." אמרה.
נִגשתי
ולפני שהגשתי
מִששתי
בלי להתביש.
ונדמה שהרגשתי
שיש:
משהו קשה, מרשרש.
אולי בגלל זה
כששמתי אותו בידה, היד שלי רעדה.
היא נישקה לי ואמרה
שאני מתוק כמו אלף סוכריות
ופתחה את התיק והוציאה
גפרורים וקופסת סיגריות.
"ועכשיו, חמודי," אמרה,
"תביא לי גם מאפרה."

Woman with umbrella
A lady came to the house
With scents from another city.
She lowered her bag and placed it in the corner
Did not say if there is or is not in it
Gift.
She spoke and spoke and suddenly remembered:
"Bring me a bag there, darling." saying.
I approached
And before I submitted
I fingered the bag
Without shame.
And I seem to have felt
That:
Something hard, rustling.
Maybe because of that
When I put it in her hand, my hand shook.
She kissed me and said
That I’m as sweet as a thousand candies
And opened the bag and took it out
Matches and a box of cigarettes.
"And now, darling," she said,
"Bring me an ashtray, too."
