שחקנית תאטרון וקולנוע

כשהייתה בת 15 נרשמה לאקדמיה למוזיקה ולאומנויות הבימה בווינה. לאחר מכן קיבלה את תפקידה הראשון בתאטרון הבימה ומאז פיתחה קריירת משחק מצליחה.

היא הופיעה על בימות תאטרון בווינה, במינכן ובברלין. בשנת 1922 קיבלה את תפקידה הקולנועי הראשון ומשם דרכה הייתה סלולה.

בשנת 1949 הוזמנה על ידי תאטרון האהל לבקר בישראל ולקחת חלק בערבי הקראה פומביים של מחזות, בין היתר מול חיילים פצועים.

היא תרמה חלק מהכנסותיה למטרות צדקה, בהן בניית מוסדות לילדי מהגרים ולשיקום חיילים נכים.

שמה מונצח בכמה ערים ברחבי העולם. בברלין נקרא פארק על שמה והוצב שלט לזכרה בכניסה לבית שבו התגוררה. בתל אביב-יפו ובווינה ישנם רחובות הנושאים את שמה.

במסגרת שבוע "במלוא הדרה" אנו נעלה על נס נשים מעוררות השראה שזכו להכרה ולהוקרה באמצעות קריאת רחוב על שמן.

כיום רחובות לא רבים בעיר נקראים על שם נשים, והעירייה פועלת לתיקון המצב: בשנה האחרה הנציחה העירייה יותר מעשר נשים - אמניות, יוצרות, פעילות חברתיות, נשות רוח ותרבות, וקראה על שמן רחובות ומוסדות ציבור ברחבי העיר.

Theater and film actress

When she was 15, she enrolled in the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. She then got her first role at the Habima Theater and has since developed a successful acting career.

She has performed on theater stages in Vienna, Munich and Berlin. In 1922 she got her first cinematic role and from there her path was paved.

In 1949 she was invited by the Ohel Theater to visit Israel and take part in public readings of plays, including in front of wounded soldiers.

She donated some of her income to charity, including building institutions for immigrant children and rehabilitating disabled soldiers.

Her name is immortalized in several cities around the world. In Berlin a park was named after her and a sign was placed in her memory at the entrance to the house where she lived. In Tel Aviv-Yafo and Vienna there are streets that bear her name.

Our streets have a special charm.
They reflect history and a culture of values ​​and heritage.
As part of the week "in full exclusion" we will ascend to the miracle of inspiring women who have gained recognition and appreciation by naming a street after their name.

Today, not many streets in the city are named after women, and the municipality is working to rectify the situation: last year, the municipality commemorated more than ten women - artists, creators, social activists, women and spirit, and read about streets and public institutions across the city.
