The statue dedicated to Emperor Joseph II was photographed that day Click for a larger image

Emperor Joseph II (1741-1790) was known for the many reforms he instituted in the field of domestic policy, reforms most of which were abolished after his death.

The statue was built by Franz Anton von Zauner and shows the emperor riding a horse in the guise of a military leader.

Another statue of that emperor is also on the site Click for sign's details

Translation of the text on the sign:
Emperor Joseph II
Living for the common good
Not a long time, but perfect
