קריית אונו ניתקת מהמועצה האזורית אונו והופכת למועצה מקומית בשם "קריית אונו."
המעברה מחוסלת ומסופחת לתחום הישוב החדש, הכולל גם את גבעת ברכה. אלה מהווים את הבסיס ליישוב החדש, שמתחיל לגלות ניצנים ראשונים של אופי עירוני.

Kiryat Ono is cut off from the Ono Regional Council and becomes a local council called "Kiryat Ono."
The transit camp is liquidated and annexed to the area of the new settlement, which also includes Givat Bracha. These form the basis for the new settlement, which is beginning to discover the first buds of an urban character.
