The Habonim’s house
The idea to establish the HaBonim House arose in 1945. The original plan was that of the movement in the United States and intended to establish a permanent seminar center for youths from the HaBonim movement abroad, who come to Israel for a one-year period. During this period, the youths will study, work, get to know the country and the issue of Zionism, and return after a year to be mentored in the movement in their countries.
The cornerstone was shot in 1946 and the first group (The Workshop) from the United States arrived in 1951. After that came another 8 groups.
The two existing houses are part of a very detailed plan for a seminar center, for the whole HaBonim movement in the world.
