בית שליט והאורווה בחצרו

בית המייסדים אליעזר אלחנן ושרה שליט הוא בית חד קומתי שבעורפו מרפסת עץ סגורה ובחצרו אורווה הבנויה אבני כורכר גלויות. השלב הראשון של הבית והאורווה שלידו שנבנו בשנת 1883 הם המתחם היחיד של בית מייסדים ומבנה משק ששרדו מן השנה הראשונה לייסוד המושבה.

אליעזר אלחנן שליט היה חלוץ מגדלי הזיתים במושבות העבריות, איכר מצטיין ותלמיד חכם.
הבית והאורווה נרכשו ע"י עיריית ראשון-לציון, שיחד עם מר אלי שליט מימנו את עבודות השיקום והקמת התצוגות בבית.
הבית מוכרז לשימור.

Shalit House and its Stable

The home of founders Eliezer Elhanan and Sarah Shalit is a single storey structure with a closed wooden balcony. Its courtyard holds a stable built of exposed local stone. The home’s and stable’s first stage were built in 1883. This is the only Farm yard containing a founders’ home and a stable that remained from the settlement’s first year. Eliezer Elhanan Shalit was a pioneer olive grower in Hebrew settlements, an excellent farmer accomplished in Jewish studies. The home and stable were purchased by Rishon LeZion municipality and together with Mr. Eli Shalit, funded the restorative work and exhibits.
The house has been declared a preservation heritage site.
