Comments:
The statue was made in 2000 by Pepe Gregoire and in it he commemorates the film Fanfare, the most successful Dutch film until the early 1960s. The film was made by director Bert Haanstra whose name and the name of the film appear on the statue.

Since the film was shot in Giethoorn, it is only natural that the commemorative statue will be erected there.
