SALIM KHOURY’S HOUSE
Here stood the home of the Maronite businessman and landowner Salim Khoury. Built in 1908, surrounded by a garden and a wall the house was named Khoury Palace for its high location, size and European characteristics. During the British rule the Palestine Railways Administration was situated here. In battles during the War of Independence the house was partly burned and damaged. Demolished in 1964 and replaced in 1981 by the Nevi’im Tower.

Comments:
The sign shape is rectangular but its head is designed according to the silhouette of the old building of the Gymnasia Herzliya, which serves as a logo of the Council for the Preservation of Heritage Sites in Israel

The Nevi’im Tower which is now standing there was photographed on the same day by the same photographer Click for a larger image
