בית עבד אל רחמאן אל חאג’
עבד אל-רחמאן אל-חאג’ (1870-1946) כיהן כראש העיר חיפה בשנים 1927-1920. נולד בחיפה, למד בבית הספר המוסלמי בעיר ועבד בה כפקיד בבית הדין השרעי.
בתקופת כהונתו כראש עיר הותקנה מערכת ביוב, הוקמה תחנת חשמל ראשונה, נסללו כבישים והוארו הרחובות בעיר.
בין השנים 1936-1934 כיהן כחבר במועצת העיר חיפה. ביתו הנו חלק משכונת אלבורג’ (ואדי סאליב). זהו מבנה מגורים מאבן בעל פרטים אדריכליים המאפיינים את סגנון הבנייה הערבי-עירוני בחיפה.

Abed El Rahman El Haj House
Abed El Rahman El Haj (1870-1946) was the Mayor of Haifa between the years 1920-1927.
Born in Haifa, he studied in the city’s Muslim school and worked there as a clerk in the Sharia Court of Justice.
During his term of office as mayor, a sewage system was installed, the first power station was built, roads were paved and the city’s streets were lit up.
During the years 1934-1936, he served as a member of the Haifa City Council.
His home is part of the El-Burj (Wadi Salib) neighborhood.
The residential stone building has architectural details typical of Haifa’s Arab urban construction style.

بيت عبد الرحمن الحاج
عمل عبد الرحمن الحاج في منصب رئيس بلدية حيفا بين السنوات 1920 و 1927. ولد في حيفا وتعلم في المدرسة الإسلامية في المدينة واشتغل موظفا في المحكمة الشرعية. في فترة رئاسته وضع نظام المجاري وأقيمت المحطة الأولى لتوليد الكهرباء وعبدت وأنيرت شوارع المدينة. كان الحاج عضوا بين السنوات 1934 و 1936 في مجلس حيفا البلدي. توفي سنة 1946. يعد بيت الحاج جزءا من حي البرج المجاور لوادي الصليب. البيت حجري ويحمل معالم معمارية بحسب طراز البناء العربي المدني في حيفا.

The sign shape is rectangular but its head is designed according to the silhouette of the old building of the Gymnasia Herzliya, which serves as a logo of the Council for the Preservation of Heritage Sites in Israel
