מגדל זה נבנה בסוף 1953 כעמדת שמירה ובה זרקור, לתגבור מערך ההגנה של המושב, זאת לאחר שפעמים מספר חדרו למושב חוליות ’מסתננים’ אשר פגעו ברכוש ובנפש.

באביב 1953 נרצחו שניים מבנינו.
יצחק ליכטנברג ובנימין נוטמן שהיו בדרכם מהכפר לתל מונד
חודשיים אח"כ נרצחו בשנתם חברינו שושנה וצבי הלפמן

Yitzhak Lichtenberg from Kfar Hess and Benjamin Notman from Tel Mond were murdered on 5.4.1953 while walking on their way to Tel Mond. The assailants, Arabs from Qalqilya, shot and killed them.
Shoshana and Zvi Helpman were murdered in their sleep on 10.6.1953 when infiltrators entered Kfar Hess and killed them.

Spotlight Tower
This tower was built at the end of 1953 as a guard post with a spotlight, to reinforce the moshav’s defense system, after several times ’infiltrator’ squads entered the moshav and damaged property and lives.

In the spring of 1953, two of our sons were murdered.
Yitzhak Lichtenberg and Benjamin Notman were on their way from the village to Tel Mond
Two months later, our friends Shoshana and Zvi Helpman were murdered in their sleep
