The column dedicated to the Virgin Mary was erected in 1857.
At the top of the column, designed by Luigi Poletti, is a statue of the Virgin Mary.
And at its base are 4 statues depicting: King David, the Prophet Isaiah, the Prophet Ezekiel and Moses (in the picture you can see King David in the foreground, the Prophet Isaiah on the right and Moses on the left.
The text on the sign is a verse from the Gospel of Luke
