Eliyahu Beit Zuri and Eliyahu Hakim, assassinated the British Minister for the Middle East, Lord Moyne. In November 1944, the two shot him in Cairo, killing him and his bodyguard. They were captured, tried by an Egyptian military court, and executed in March 1945.
The square at the end of two streets named after Beit Zuri and Hakim was photographed on the same day (as can be seen in the square, there are two large rocks symbolizing Beit Zuri and Hakim) Click for a larger image
Translation of the text on the sign: [A line from a poem by Uri Zvi Greenberg that appears in the Hebrew text is missing in the English text] "For their part in the holy and terrible deed, in rising up against the foreign ruler and signing their name with the blood of heroes, in the War of Israels Independence" Uri Zvi Greenberg
