The sign is on the house where Alexander Bogen lived - painter and sculptor, born in Tartu, Estonia (1916-2010). He studied art at the University of Vilnius (Vilna), and was a lecturer at the Academy of Art in Poland. During World War II he worked as a partisan in the Belarus region, an activity that later influenced his work. After the end of the war he completed his doctoral studies.
Immigrated to Israel in 1951, and was chairman of the Association of Painters and Sculptors in Israel for about 12 years (since 1969).
