[תמונת הברון ואשתו]

הברון בנימין אדמונד דה-רוטשילד
האנדרטה הוקמה לאות תודה על פועלו ותרומתו הרבה של הברון, לחידוש ההתיישבות היהודית בארץ-ישראל.
הברון, "הנדיב הידוע", סייע לאיכרי ראשון-לציון לסיים את חפירת באר המים הראשונה במושבה (תרמ"ג, 1883), שיגר גננים ללמד את עבודת האדמה, הקים את היקב ותמך בהקמת ובהפעלת מוסדות הציבור במושבה

הברון הרחיב פעילותו לכל המושבות בארץ ולימים נקרא "אבי היישוב". לאורך כל דרכו סייעה בידו רעייתו הברונית אדלאידה.

This memorial is a token of thanks for the great contribution made by the Baron Rothschild to the resettlement of the Land of Israel.

In Rishon Le-Zion, the Baron financed the digging of the first well, helped in training the farmers, established the winery, built and supported the school, pharmacy and clinic. The Baron was supported throughout by his wife, the Baroness Adelaide.
