ב-י"ז באלול תש"ז (2.9.1947) הייתה התפוצצות ובה נהרג ראש הקבוצה,
שמחה עוזר ז"ל,
אשר שוחרר מכלא עכו ארבעה חודשים קודם לכן, בפריצת אצ"ל למבצר הכלא.

The Etzel used the ground floor of this house to manufacture weapons.
An explosion occurred here on 2.9.1947, killing the head of the group,
Simcha Ozer,
who only four months earlier had been freed from Acre prison following an Etzel raid.
