ביום 28 במרץ 1932, כ’ באדר ב’ התרצ"ב, התקיים טקס הפתיחה של
המכביה הראשונה
בהשתתפות 390 ספורטאים יהודים אשר הגיעו משמונה עשרה מדינות.
בתוך פרק זמן של שישה שבועות הוקם "אצטדיון המכביה" שכלל 5,000 מקומות ישיבה ו-15,000 מקומות עמידה.
מאז התקיימו בישראל עוד תשע עשרה מכביות.

ON MARCH 28 1932, AT THIS PLACE,
THE FIRST MACCABIAH
OPENED WITH 390 JEWISH ATHLETES FROM 18 COUNTRIES.
THE "MACCABIAH STADIUM" WAS CONSTRUCTED IN 6 WEEKS, WITH 5,000 SEATS AND 15,000 STANDING PLACES.
SINCE THEN, 19 MACCABIOT TOOK PLACE IN ISRAEL.

THIS PLAQUE IS EMPLACED TOWARDS THE 20TH MACCABIAH, JULY 2017.
