THE ARTIST YEHEZKEL STREICHMAN LIVED & CREATED IN THIS HOUSE
The sign is in the house where Yehezkel Streichman - a painter, was born in Zapyškis, Lithuania (1906-1993), immigrated to Israel in 1926. He continued his art studies at the Bezalel School. Upon graduation he traveled for several years to France and Italy (1926-1936). Won the Israel Prize for Painting (1960), and the Dizengoff Prize for the Art of Painting (1941). Was one of the founders of the "New Horizons" group of artists. This house is the last house he lived in in Tel Aviv, and Shlomtsiyon HaMalka Street even appears in his paintings
