The 73rd Battalion of the 7th Brigade was an armored battalion that some members of the Sixth Battalion joined (the Foremen Click for sign's details). As part of Operation Ben Nun B, to occupy the Latrun area in order to clear the road to Jerusalem, the fighters broke through the police’s outer line of defense, but failed in their attempt to score a breach in the police building itself. In the battle, 31 soldiers from the 73rd Battalion were killed. After this battle, the members of the Sixth Battalion left the 7th Brigade and returned to their battalion.
