משפחת ילין
יהושע ילין (תר"ג-תרפ"ד 1843-1924) ואשתו שֶׂרַח לבית יהודה (תר"ד-תרס"א 1844-1901) היו ראשוני המתיישבים במוצא ומבני השכונות מחוץ לחומה: נחלת שבעה, מאה שערים ואבן ישראל. בנם הבכור דוד ילין היה מורה ובלשן, לוחם השפה העברית וממנהיגי היישוב.
אשתו אִטַה פינס הייתה אשת ציבור. צאצאי משפחת ילין היו מבוני ירושלים ותל-אביב, אנשי רוח והוראה.

The Yellin Family
Yehoshua Yellin (1843-1924) and his wife, Serach Yehuda (1844-1901), were the first settlers in Motza. Both leading figures in the yishuv they were active in the establishment of Nahalat Shiv’a, Mea She’arim and Even Israel, the first residential areas outside the Old City walls. Their eldest son, David Yellin, teacher. linguist and champion of modern Hebrew, was married to Itta Pinnes, a well known entity. The Yellin offspring, teachers and intellectuals, took part in the establishment of both Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
