עלה לירושלים מליטא ללמוד בישיבה. מראשוני המשכילים ודוברי העברית, מראשוני חוקרי ארץ ישראל ותולדותיה. את מחקריו הרבים פרסם בבית הדפוס שהקים. אף שבגיל 25 התעוור המשיך לשמש כמורה דרך, הקים וניהל את בית חינוך עיוורים בירושלים. עם מות אשתו דבורה היתה בתו חנה בת ה-17 ליד ימינו בעבודתו המדעית. פרסמה את אחרוני כתביו וכתבה את פרשת חייו

Ayraham Moshe Luncz 1854-1918
Avraharn Luncz came from Lithuania to a Jerusalem yeshiva in 1869. A modern-Hebrew speaking intellectual. he pioneered the research into the geographical-history of Eretz Israel, publishing his numerous works in his own (Luncz) press. In spite of losing his sight at the age of 25, Luncz continued his field trips as well as establishing and directing the Jerusalem School for the Blind (Beth Chinuch La-lvrim). Following the death of his wife Devora, his 17 year old daughter, Hanna, became his research assistant, publishing the last of his writings and biography.
