החל מ-1880 קבוצות, גדולות של צליינים מצרפת היו מגיעות למסע שנתי בארץ הקודש. עם עידן הרכבת, היו הצליינים מגיעים בספינות משא גדולות אל נמל חיפה ובהמשך לוקחים את הרכבת מיפו לירושלים. בתמונה נראים צליינים בתחנת ירושלים, על רקע קטר העומד בסמוך למגדל המים. מאחור משתקף נוף המושבה הגרמנית.

منذ بداية 1880 وصلت مجموعات كبيرة من الحجاج الفرنسين في رحلة سنوية إلى الأراضي المقدسة . مع صر شحى كبيرة كبيرة قادمة إلى ميناء حيفا ولاحقا يأخذون القطار من يافا الى القدس . القطار ، كان الحجاج يصلون في الصورة يظهر الحجاج في محطة في القدس ، على خلفية قاطرة تقف بجانب برج مياه . في الخلف ينعكس مشهد المستعمرة الألمانية .

Beginning in 1880, large groups of French pilgrims arrived each year in the Holy Land. As the railway era began, pilgrims would arrive at the port of Haifa with cargo ships and were later able to take the railway from Jaffa to Jerusalem. The photo shows pilgrims at the Jerusalem station; in the background, a locomotive stands near the water tower. Behind them is a view of the German Colony.

Sign No. 44 in a series of signs placed on or around lighting poles, including the history of the old railway line to Jerusalem, along which its route extends the HaMesila (Railway) Park.
