The Citadel Moat
حافي القلعة

המצודה הוקפה בחפיר לאמור, תעלה חצובה בחלקה ובנויה בחלקה והיא שימשה כמחסום לקירוב כלי מצור לחומות המצודה. בחפיר לא היו מים.

The Citadel was surrounded by a moat, that is, a ditch, partly hewn in the rock and partly built, to prevent siege machines being brought up to its walls. There was no water in the moat.
