Translation of the text on the sign:
The symbol of the Council for the Preservation of Heritage Sites in Israel

Security house
The place was founded on February 7, 1947 by the settler core of Hungarian immigrants, and was called "Roots".
During the War of Independence, the place served as a headquarters base for the Negev Division of the Palmach, and after the war the founders moved to Kibbutz Kfar Horesh. On January 9, 1949, Kibbutz Tzalim was founded near the original spot by a nucleus of the Youth Aliyah from Italy, whose members came to Israel as immigrants.
The security house and farm buildings of the kibbutz from the War of Independence remain on the site.
