הבניין הניאו-קלאסי הוקם על ידי הפטריארכיה הארמנית ב-1900 כמבנה מסחרי להשכרה. לפני מלחמת העולם הראשונה היה בבניין סניף הדואר הרוסי ובמשך מספר שנים מלון יוז.

ARMENIAN BUILDING
A NEO-CLASSIC BUILDING, ERECTED IN 1900 BY THE ARMENIAN PATRIARCHATE AS A COMMERCIAL STRUCTURE FOR LEASING. BEFORE WORLD WAR I THE BUILDING HOUSED THE RUSSIAN POST OFFICE AND, FOR SOME YEARS, THE HUGHES HOTEL.

A sign of the Jerusalem "The Built Heritage" series, a project initiated by architectural historian David Kroyanker in 1993, in which buildings of historic value were commemorated in central Jerusalem.
The signs were designed by Harel Designers Office, and the logo is in the form of a relief of a rosette window ("Rosetta").
