תְּשַׁע עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה הָיְתָה הָעִיר מְחֻלֶקֶת
כְּמֶשֶׁךְ חַיֵי אָדָם צָעִיר שֶׁאוּלַי נָפַל בַּמִּלְחָמָה.
אֲנִי זוֹכֵר בְּגַעְגּוּעִים אֶת הַשַׁלְוָה וְאֶת הַגַּעְגּוּעִים.
מְשְֻגָּעִים הָיוּ עוֹבְרִים אֶת הַגָּדֵר הַחוֹצָה,
אוֹיְבִים פָּרְצוּ אוֹתָהּ,
אוֹהֲבִים נִגְשׁוּ עָדֶיהָ וּבָדְקוּ אוֹתָהּ,
