בית הקהילה הישן, שנחנך בחורף 1873, היה מבנה הציבור הראשון במושבה הטמפלרית, בראשו הותקנו פעמונים ושעון גדול ואת כתליו עיטרו פסוקים מכתבי הקודש. המבנה שימש להתכנסויות הקהילה עד 1911, אז נבנה בית הקהילה החדש (ברחוב דוד אלעזר 3), ועד 1931 שכן בו בית הספר. בשנות השלושים פעלו בו משרדי המועצה המקומית שרונה וסניף הדואר. במהלך מלחמת העולם השנייה השתכנה בו מפקדת הכוחות הבריטיים.
לאחר מסירת שרונה לכוחות ההגנה נקרא הבניין "בית כרמי", לזכר כרמי רבינוביץ שנפל בקרב בחולון במלחמת העצמאות. לאחר קום המדינה נוסד בבניין זה השירות הבולאי, ושכן בו סניף הדואר של הקריה עד סגירתו ב-2005, עת הועתק הבית למקומו הנוכחי במסגרת עבודות השימור.

The old community hall, which was Inaugurated in the winter of 1873, was the first public building In the Templer colony. On Its rooftop bells and large clock were installed and the walls were adorned with Bible verses. The building was used for community gatherings until 1911, when the new community hall was bullt (the building at 3 David Elazar St.); until 1931 it housed the colonys school. In the 1930s the local council offices of Sarona were housed there as was a post office. During World War Il the headquarters of the British forces was there.
After the handover of Sarona to the Haganah the building was named Carmi House in memory of Carmi Rabinovich who died in a battle in Holon during the War of Independence. After the founding of the state, the Israel Philatelic Service was housed here and the post office of the Kiryah until its closure in 2005, when the building was moved to its current location in the context of the preservation project.

كان بيت الطائفة القديم الذي تم تدشينه خلال شتاء العام ۱۸۷۳ ، أول مبني عمومي في مستعمرة " فرسان الهيكل " ، وتم فوقه تركيب نواقيس وساعة كبرى ، وكانت آيات من الكتب المقدسة للمسيحيين تزين جدرانه . واستخدم المبنى في عقد اجتماعات الطائفة حتى سنة ۱۹۱۱ ، ثم بني بيت الطائفة الجديد ( الكائن بشارع دافيد إلعازار رقم ۳ ) ، ليؤوي المبنى القديم مدرسة المستعمرة حتى عام ۱۹۳۱ . وكان يؤوي إبان الثلاثينات مقر المجلس المحلي سارونا وفرعا للبريد . وخلال الحرب العالمية الثانية ، انتقلت إلى المبنى قيادة القوات البريطانية ، وبعد تسليمه إلى قوات " الهاجاناه ، أصبح اسمه " بيت كارمي " ، تخليدا لذكرى كارمي رابينوفيتش ، الذي سقط في إحدى المعارك بمدينة حولون خلال حرب الاستقلال . وبعد قيام الدولة ، أصبح يؤوي " خدعة الطوابع " ( " هشيروت هبولاني " ) وفرع بريد هكرياه ، حتى إغلاقه سنة ۲۰۰۵ ، حين تم نقل المبنى إلى موقعه الحالي في نطاق أعمال الحفاظ عليه .
