בית היסמן

במרתפו התגורר נפתלי הרץ אימבר, משורר "התקווה". ביתם של המייסדים שרגא פייבל וציפורה פייגה היסמן נחנך בשנה הראשונה לייסוד המושבה (1882) והנו אחד משלושת הבתים הראשונים שנבנו במושבה. הבית בנוי אבני כורכר בסגנון אירופי האופייני לבתי הראשונים, ומאז ראשית המאה העשרים נותר כמעט ללא שינוי. היסמן, איכר עצמאי שלא היה כפוף לאפוטרופסות הברון רוטשילד, היה מראשוני הכורמים וחבר בוועד המושבה. בשנים הראשונות לייסוד המושבה שימש הבית גם משכן ל"חדר", לבית הכנסת ומעין בית ועד. בשנת 1884 התגורר במרתף הבית נפתלי הרץ אימבר, משורר ’’התקווה". בשנת 1887 עזב היסמן את המושבה ומכר את ביתו למשפחת אמצ’יסלבסקי. עיריית ראשון-לציון רכשה את הבית עברך המוזאון ודאגה לשיקומו, והוא מוכרז לשימור.

Heisman House

Heisman House, where poet Naftali Hertz Imber, author of the national anthem "Hatikva" lived. The home of founders Shraga Feivel and Tziporah Feigeh Heisman was inaugurated in the first year of Rishon LeZion’s founding (1882) and is one of the first three homes built in the settlement. Of a European style typical of the founders’ homes, it is built of local sandstone and has remained virtually unchanged since the start of the 20th century. Heisman, an independent farmer who was not subject to Baron Rothschild’s guardianship, was one of the first vine-growers and a member of the settlement committee.
In Rishon LeZion’s early years, this home also served as a Heder (religious elementary school), and hosted the committee’s affairs. In 1884, poet Naftali Hertz Imber, author of Hatikva, lived in the home’s basement. Heisman left Rishon LeZion in 1887, selling the home to the Amchislavsky family. Rishon LeZion municipality purchased and restored it for the museum complex. The home is now a preservation heritage site.
