Cheap housing
Cheap housing - was the name given to a group of two-story terraced houses on Weitzman St., between Hanasiim and Homa and Migdal streets. The Histadrut ’Shikon’ company that built the buildings (1937 1938), allowed the residents to work in the construction of their houses, thus covering part of their payments to the company. That is why the houses were called "cheap housing".
The area of each apartment was about 50 square meters and included: a living room, a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom, a balcony and a hallway. To ensure good insulation, the houses were covered with red tiled roofs, which were the hallmark of the houses. In the 1970s, the buildings were expanded and renovated.
