Située au cœur dun quartier marqué au XXe siècle par une effervescence culturelle sans précédent, la station Saint-Germain-des-Prés bénéficie dun statut particulier au sein du réseau de métro parisien. La RATP y a, depuis toujours, accordé une large place aux arts et à la culture. On peut notamment y admirer la sculpture Les Messagers, un bronze de Gualtiero Busato, ou encore une mosaïque dAndré Ropion rendant hommage à Gutenberg. Depuis lan 2000, date du centenaire du métro, ses quais accueillent régulièrement des expositions temporaires mettant en avant la création littéraire. La nouvelle installation Le Mythe Saint-Germain: un lexique amoureux célèbre aujourdhui des personnalités, illustres ou parfois méconnues, qui ont contribué à écrire lhistoire du quartier. En prenant appui sur un nom qui évoque à lui seul mille images et événements, cette galerie de portraits propose une promenade littéraire à travers les époques, depuis la naissance de la station jusquà nos jours. Elle dévoile, entre histoires et anecdotes, un peu de ce quartier unique qui incarne toujourse... certaine idée dun Paris lettré, chic, libre et créatif.

Located in the heart of a district marked by unprecedented cultural excitement in the 20th century, the Saint-Germain-des-Prés station enjoys a special status within the Paris metro network. The RATP has always given a large place to arts and culture. You can notably admire the sculpture Les Messagers, a bronze by Gualtiero Busato, or even a mosaic by André Ropion paying homage to Gutenberg. Since 2000, the centenary of the metro, its platforms have regularly hosted temporary exhibitions highlighting literary creation. The new installation Le Mythe Saint-Germain: a loving lexicon now celebrates personalities, illustrious or sometimes unknown, who have contributed to writing the history of the neighborhood. Based on a name that alone evokes a thousand images and events, this gallery of portraits offers a literary stroll through the eras, from the birth of the station to the present day. It reveals, between stories and anecdotes, a little of this unique district which always embodies... a certain idea of a literate, chic, free and creative Paris.
